April 7 is the day when the Seaside Boulevard, considered one of the pearls of Baku, was established. The foundation of this enchanting space stretching along the Caspian coast was laid exactly 117 years ago today. Over more than a century, the boulevard has become one of the most unique recreational areas not only in Baku but also in the world – an urban space reflecting the cultural, social, and architectural stages of the capital's development. In 1998, by the relevant Decree of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the Seaside Boulevard was granted National Park status. Over the past 20 years, the total length of Baku Boulevard has been extended to 16.4 km, turning it into an irreplaceable space that reflects both the city's history and its modern image.

Baku Boulevard was awarded the International Large Urban Parks Award in 2024, and the international Green Flag Award in 2025.
