Laurus (lat. Laurus.) – a genus of evergreen trees belonging to the laurel family, Lauraceae. In accordance with the results of archaeological excavations, the laurus was native to the shores of the Mediterranean Sea and Northern Africa. Presently it can be found on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea, the Canary Islands and the Western Caucasus. It is planted in the territory of the Old Boulevard, New Boulevard the White City, and the National Flag Square.
