Oriental plane (lat. Platanus orientalis) – a large, deciduous tree, growing to 40-50 m and known for its longevity and spreading crown. The Oriental plane is native to the Balkan peninsula islands of the Aegean Sea, western and southern parts of Asia Minor, the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea, as well as the islands of Crete and Capri. In Azerbaijan it is widely spread in the Besitchay State Reserve in Zangilan District. It can be found in greater numbers in the territory of the Old Boulevard, the White City, the National Flag Square and Bayil Boulevard.
