The Leyland cypress

The Leyland cypress (lat. Cupressocyparis leylandi) – a fast-growing coniferous evergreen tree. The Leyland cypress reaches a size of up to 15 meters high within 15-16 years. In 1888 the hybrid cross occurred when the female flowers or cones of Nootka cypress were fertilised by pollen from the Monterey cypress. The Leyland cypress is the hybrid of these two parent species. It can be found in greater numbers in hedges, but has also been individually planted in the territory of the Old Boulevard, the White City, New Boulevard and Bayil Boulevard
