Holm oak (lat. Quercus ilex) – a species in the family Fagaceae. It is native to the coasts of the Mediterranean Sea, Southern Europe, Northern Africa and Asia Minor. Holm oak is a variety of evergreen oak, growing up to 20m in height, with a wide trunk diameter of 60 sq m and a wide umbrella shape. It is grown up in the parklands of the Absheron peninsula, Ganja, Shamkir and other cities. The largest and oldest samples of the holm oak are registered in the National Seaside Park.
