Parrotia

Parrotia (lat. Parrotia persica) – a deciduous tree in the family Hamamelidaceae. In accordance the IUCN Red List its status is defined as “Near Threathened (NT).” It is a rare species of Azerbaijan. Parrotia grows to 12-22 (25) m tall and a very branchy tree. Parrotia occupies in total 7 400 hectares of area in Lankaran lowland (Burjali and Tangivan settlements), mountainous area of Lankaran, Astara (Mashkhan settlements),eastern part of Greater Caucasus (Chukhur Gabala settlement, Gabala region) and Hirkan forest. It can be found in the territory of the Old Boulevard, near the Tennis Court.
