Himalayan cedar (lat. Cedrus deodara) – native to the northern and western Himalayas. It has been introduced to many European countries as well. Himalayan cedar is a large evergreen coniferous tree reaching 50 m tall. It is planted in the parks and gardens of Ganja, Zakatala, Gazakh, Lanakaran and Baku. Despite the soil of the Absheron peninsula being brown, grey and grey-brown with medium irrigation, the Himalayan cedar can normally grow here. It can be found in greater numbers in the territories of the Old Boulevard and the National Flag Square.
