Common barberry (lat. Berberis vulgaris) — is a shrub in the genus Berberis. The shrub is native to central Europe, the Mediterranean countries, the Balkans, the Asia Minor countries, Iran, Afghanistan, Russia and the Caucasus. Common barberry grows in all regions – in lowlands and central mountainous zones of Azerbaijan (up to 1888 m above the sea level). It can be found in the territory of the Old Boulevard.
